An open letter to the Met Gala

We really do not need 100 yard outfits that have to be carried by 5 humans.

Success, Style and weird fashions are the words usually associated with the grand Anna Wintour led event that is the Met Gala. What comes to my mind you ask?

Absolute Insanity.

Celebrities coming trailing about in their otherworldly outfits that cost exorbitant amounts and would be plain weird if worn out in the *actual* world while claiming to be a part of initiatives like the UN programs they all post about on their equally distressing instagrams is the exact definition of hypocrisy.

Or in Kim Kardashian’s case, becoming a lawyer

The simple point is it is absolutely useless to come dressed up in outfits that are supposedly *historically Egyptian* while being carried in thrones by 5 people

I’m not kidding

I was more concerned about the carriers.

There simply is something so horrifying in seeing the A- Listers of the world parading about in senseless clothes while the world starves. Who needs an embodiment of a chandelier in an outfit (If one could call it that) while claiming to retire from this world “lit”

There is something so absurd about being a UN goodwill ambassador fighting for the rights of Vietnamese children and then showing up in a dress fitted with Swarovski crystals that took more than 6 weeks to make.

The power of influence is amazing, i get it but that does not justify an event like this.

Remember Lady Gaga’s meat dress. Skinning cows and then fashioning an outfit complete with boots made of flesh is not a way to inspire people and if people did get inspired, the world needs to rethink their likes

Since when did fashion represent outrageous outfits that needed 6 weeks to create.

And why do we even go crazy about such events.
